Opening it the first time
This version is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID or notarized by Apple, so macOS asks you to confirm before it opens. You do this once.
- Open the downloaded disk image and drag Mockup Studio into Applications.
- Open it from Applications. macOS says it cannot check the app for malicious software. Click Done.
- Open System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security, and click Open Anyway beside Mockup Studio. Confirm with your password or Touch ID.
To be sure the file is the one we published, compare its SHA-256 below with what shasum -a 256 prints in Terminal. Once versions are notarized by Apple they open with a double click, and this note goes away.

A look inside
Shown with Harbour Watch, an invented sample project that comes with the app.
System requirements
- macOS 12 Monterey or later
- A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later)
- A few hundred megabytes free
- An internet connection only to share and sync. Projects can stay entirely offline.
Privacy
- Your projects stay on your Mac unless you share one. Shared projects sync end-to-end encrypted: the sync service passes them along but cannot read them.
- Signing in shares your name and email address with us, and nothing about your work.
- Checking for updates reads the list of versions on this page and sends nothing about you.
